An incredible, mesmerizing art style and two interesting lead characters, but the narrative never quite managed to engage me.
this is really a mirror of what happened in urban city. some people they called as 'stray cats' is really exist.
quite masterful storytelling and colouring more subtle than in other animes. translated dialogue sometimes hinged on cliches; this transgression could be forgiven as the sentiments were so utterly powerful. disturbing, disturbed, and always beautiful.
Some of the visuals were nice and neat details in the city but that's not enough for me in an animation. I didn't really find this one to be that unique; felt like stuff I'd seen before but mangled into another form. Also, the younger brother's voice was so annoying, I couldn't think. :\
This one took me completely by surprise. I'd had it recommended before but when I finally saw it; WOW. Epic in the way of the best anime and all the more incredible as it was directed by a New Yorker. Great visuals and kinetic style. Evil, evil, evil bad guys and uniquely quirky heroes. This is definitely one of those crossover pieces that should appeal to anyone that likes great filmmaking.
