Too much?
Very Kiarostami. Unfortunately, my copy was damaged, so I'll never know what happens in the last 19 minutes, but up until then, it wasn't bad. I'm not quite sure what new information this film brings to the table, but it was pleasant enough. The kid is funny too.
Kiarostomi has created a brilliant and wholly realistic universe through the use of extremely simple means. Every moment of this film felt entirely genuine to me, and I was very deeply moved by the raw humanity on display before me.
Kiarostami uses the automobile to the hilt in this film on the joys, sorrows and ambitions of modern women in Iran. It tells you how you can use even a static space with two camera angles to convey a story, and that too an insightful one. Fascinating stuff!
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's completely formless, has nothing to say about the complicated issues of women in Iran, or women in general, or life in general. It's the anti-thesis of film, it's nothing. It barely exists in whatever shallow, superficial, non-entity, critic baiting world it's created. Dog shit has more to say about the human condition than this sub-reality show crap.
Do you even know how this film was made? Even if you don't like it, you can give 1 star or not to rate it at all; Why the hateful words?! Since when you know a lot about women's condition in Iran?
modern masterpiece. the genius of this film lies in the simple premise, and how it captures the daily torment, faith and triumph of these peoples lives. the main character is wonderful too, i admired her a great deal and it adds a nice twist that she is a film director too. this presented the struggles of this woman in modern iran too without ever being overstated. the minimalism of this project is absolute cinema.
A subtle but never boring slice of life. An insight into a person's life and culture, sans melodrama.
One of the most unique movies I've ever seen, feels so real, and goes deep inside the society issues. Kiarostami is one of the most original living directors.
I'm just going to forget that Abbas Kiarostami is behind this. One of the things that I love so much about his work is the look and feel that he embeds so miraculously. This on the other hand, wouldn't have been any better if it were ten minutes, I'm a little upset actually, simply because I have been on a role with his films and have loved them all, and then this comes up and I honestly feel like I wasted my time.
El coche es un espacio, en el que se refugian, o aparecen confinados los individuos, viéndose impulsados a plantearse cuestiones existenciales y sociales.
