Thale is the story of a certain hulder, found by two crimes scene cleaners in a concealed cellar. The creature never utters a word, unable to tell her tale herself, but the pieces of the puzzle soon come together; She’s been kept down here for decades, for reasons soon to surface. Someone is approaching from outside. They want her back.. –SXSW
utstanding performances and assured editing. The movie has flaws and isn't quite as good it the latter half, but the first half or so is a lesson in how to make a low budget movie tick. It's gripping. (And the latter half is perfectly respectable, it just doesn't quite reach the high bar set in the first half.)
I wanted to like this film more, it could have been a half hour longer for more story development. I felt that it ended to quickly, you didn't know enough about Thale to appreciate what a cool character she could have been. The CGI was pretty shitty, the only redeeming quality was Silje Reinamo who had good screen presence. Could have been better.
