Synopsis

Recounts a fable of a pop rock band formed a year after the Beatles took America by storm in early 1964. Jazz aficionado Guy Patterson, unhappily toiling in the family appliance store, is recruited into the band the Oneders (later renamed the Wonders) after regular drummer Chad breaks his arm. After Guy injects a four/four rock beat into lead singer Jimmy’s ballad, the song’s undeniable pop power flings the Wonders into a brief whirlwind of success, telling the tale of many American bands who attempted to grab the brass ring of rock and roll in the wake of the British Invasion. –IMDb

Born July 9, 1956, in Concord, CA, Hanks spent much of his childhood moving about with his father, an itinerant cook, and continually attempting to cope with constantly changing schools, religions, and stepmothers. In 1978, Hanks went to find work in New York; while there he married actress/producer Samantha Lewes, whom he later divorced.

Hanks debuted onscreen in the low-budget slasher movie He Knows You’re Alone (1979). A love letter to the rock n roll of old. Formulaic but with lots of heart

By Henrik Schunk on January 13, 2012

Despite it several weaknesses, the film is still enjoyable because writer/director Tom Hank’s love and interest for the era pervades through the film like music from the radio. In fact, the story follows…  read review
