The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin

Roddy McDowall stars as Bullwhip Griffin, butler to an elite19th-century Boston clan that’s suddenly gone bankrupt and whose eldest son has decided that the answer to the family’s problems lies in the San Francisco gold rush. Bullwhip is obliged to follow his young charge out west, where they team up with some memorable characters who also happen to be seeking their fortunes. Karl Malden and Suzanne Pleshette co-star.
