Tragic drama with a light touch, no matter what happens the sense that things will never be right again is always just under the surface...
Magnificent film. Contains my favorite scene of all time: "I love you Wilma. I always have and I always will."
Surprisingly pertinent, with stunning writing for the era.
Landmark film where one actor outshines the other. An incredible snapshot of an era, examining how an entire generation attempts to reenter society. Incredible film.
So brilliant. So relevant
A near flawless portrayal of life for WWII servicemen after the war. It's three hour length speeds by, and the story remains incredibly relevant today.
More then a film, a historical document.
More great Dana Andrews. Fredric March never better. Great moment: Myrna Loy realizes that her husband has come home.
left somewhat craving for more..felt like the film had some more to offer..
If only todays filmmakers had some balls.
For me, this is an absolute five star classic. At almost three hours, I actually found it to be a little short. Every aspect of the three soldiers lives and emotions are carefully examined as they try to readjust to "normal" lives. A splendid and brilliant film.
