Two Irish brothers accidentally killed mafia thugs. They turned themselves in and were released as heroes. They then see it as a calling by God and started knocking off mafia gang members one by one. Willem Dafoe plays the detective trying to figure out the killings, but the closer he was to catching the Irish brothers, the more he thinks the brothers are doing the right thing. —IMDb
Ok, this was definitely fun to watch. It has cool characters, some really cool dialogues and, overall, it's a pretty cool movie. And that's the problem I have with it; it tries so hard to be cool that it misses the chances it has to question the morality of vigilante justice. I wouldn't mind, but that seems to be a major issue for Willem Defoe's character and the movie doesn't even grasp the surface of his dilemma.
Also, he sleeps with an Asian boy that couldn't help stroking his skinny-Platoon.made torso!
This faux-Tarantino bullshit is dangerous, immoral, offensive cinema. It is so up its own ass that it must have been ghost directed by whatever embodiment of misguided teenage fantasy was around. There is nothing competent in this film. Nothing. I wish Troy Duffy was still blacklisted.
how dare anyone riff on tarantino! tarantino would never riff on any dir- oh wait...
