Synopsis
Nicolas Cage stars as Ned Hanlan in this 1986 biopic about the maverick sculler. Set in the late 1800s, the film follows Hanlan from his rebellious youth to his rise to the top of the sport. The competition is fierce as he perfects his rowing stroke and closes in on the championship; meanwhile, Hanlan must contend with his unprincipled handler (Christopher Plummer) and an opportunistic gambler (David Naughton).
