Great movie. It follows different women during their daily struggle, never fully explores one story but rather looses the protagonist after some time to follow a different woman. Begins in a hospital, where the birth of a girl is a catastrophe for the family, and ends in jail, with a woman accused of prostitution. Watch out for the first and the last shot of the film: how much they are alike. The camerawork is astounding. At the same time subtle and very clear it frames the women within windows and other bordering devices – as a symbol for an existance of social outcasts qua gender.
