The Conquest focuses on French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s rise to power, telling, in flashback, of his “journey, starting in 2002, when then-president Jacques Chirac told him he wouldn’t appoint him prime minister, and how Sarkozy went on to win power but lost his marriage.” _Variety
A terrible film. The ambition is definitely to be close to some american films such as "Nixon" or "JFK" (both by Stone) or also "J. Edgar" by Eastwood but it's obviously a failure as what is told is uniquely what has been already told a million times by the mass medias and doesn't learn something more to the viewer... Really terrible.
