Pretty damn interesting take on the mexican legend. The whole film has a strong Mario Bava vibe as well, this was one year after Mask of the Demon was released, and it also involved a witch that was coming back to life. There are some pacing issues in the final act, but overall this holds quite well. Good cast, with the exception of the rather dull Salazar, great direction and well made sets.
The plot moves on too fast, and for the most part, this story is only interested in shocking, presenting 'shocking' images over and over again, with the ever present zoom. I guess it's okay if you're looking for camp. But I've never seen a classic Mexican horror film, so I guess this is good experimenting.
