Satinho lives in a small village near the Amazon river. Twenty years ago he found the blood-soaked dress of his sister who had disappeared. He was considered a saint overnight and pilgrims have come to the village from far and wide to worship the shrine in the ‘The Year of the Dead Girl’. A colourful and baroque picture of an isolated community. —Cinema Novo Festival
