This film could have used some more editing so much of it seems to wander off into pointless ends and some things just end up coming out of right field. In the field the film perches itself on the middle ground of mediocrity which is unfortunate for having such and amazing cast but it just goes to show Cimino needs to take a lesson from Lean and learn how to be a better editor before he tries to make films or at least spend more time actually trying to make major plot points understandable not just suddenly drop people into situations that they have no reason to be in, seriously when you have helicopters right there to pick you up there is no reason for you to end up in a prison camp none at all.
