One of the greatest films ever made, hands down. I have held on to the worst transfer ever on VHS just waiting for something better (half the subtitles bleed into the background); I downloaded a better transfer with more legible subtitles from a filesharing website a few years ago, but it’s the Criterion DVD that I’ve been lusting for all this time. Nothing will stop me from acquiring this treasure — unless I’m unable to leave my apartment for some reason….
