The Finger

Now that the military junta has been dissolved and elections have been declared across Argentina, Don Hidalgo has decided to throw his hat into the local mayoral election. But there is a small problem… In the town where Don Hidalgo intends to run, they must have 501 inhabitants in order to elect a mayor and Don Hidalgo’s opponent, Baldomero, has just been murdered, reducing the town’s population to 500. Don Hidalgo ends up persuading Baldomero’s brother Florencio to postpone the signing of the death certificate until after the elections, but Florencio also wants his revenge. He cuts off Baldomero’s finger and swears he will bury it in the behind of his brother’s killer once he is found. But the finger soon takes on a force of its own, upsetting life in the small town in ways that no one could have imagined. –Inbaseline
