The director was born in 1930 in the Moravian Krumlov. She studied musicology and aesthetics at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of JEPurkyně in Brno and at the piano at the Brno Conservatory (1955). As assistant director Otakar Vavra worked with the realization of films Romance for Bugle (1966) and The Thirteenth Chamber (1968).
