Synopsis

A gruesome tale of revenge and bloodshed, from the Shock King of Staten Island, cult director, Andy Milligan. This super-cheap horror film story is set in an eerie Victorian mansion where a family has gathered for a will-reading. Three couples must spend the night there to inherit a fortune according to the will. Then they start dying one by one, as people are impaled with pitchforks, decapitated, dismembered, and have their throats hacked open with knives. There is a lot of disgusting gore including a scene where a hunchbacked cretin eats live rabbits.—IMDb

Andy Milligan (January 31, 1929 – June 3, 1991) was an American playwright, screenwriter, cinematographer, actor, film editor, producer, and director, whose work includes 27 films made between 1965 and 1991.

Born Andrew Jackson Milligan, Jr. in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Milligan was a self-taught filmmaker and was responsible for much of the creative activity on his films (including cinematography and costume design). His films often dwell on the topics of transgression and punishment, familial relationships, repressed sexuality, and physical deformity and include such titles as Fleshpot on 42nd Street (1973), The Rats are Coming! The Werewolves are Here! (1973), Guru, the Mad Monk (1970), Gutter Trash (1969), The Ghastly Ones (1968), Depraved! (1967), and The Naked Witch (1964). Most of Milligan’s early works are currently considered lost films.

During the early 1960s, Milligan became involved in the nascent off-off-Broadway theatre movement, mounting productions of plays… read more

Couldn't finish it. Andy Milligan had a fascinating life, but his surviving films are awful, even by grindhouse standards.

I'm not sure whether or not this film is banned in the UK because it wasn't resubmitted for classification or because it really was just rejected, but I'm guessing it isn't the latter.

Andy Milligan was so incompetent that this feels like an experimental masterwork, like something Kenneth Anger or the Kuchars would have done. It's like watching people pretend for the first time in their lives. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
