Granted one could do with cutting out maybe an hour of the meandering around in the middle and the sort of atmospheric jumble as we move from out west horse rides to suddenly war epic to character development, but that ending. That ending. Perfect blend of camera work, atmosphere and score. One of the best single scenes of all time.
total snooze fest, like everything else Leone ever did.
Loved large chunks of this. So well shot.
Near perfection. Leone's masterpiece is one of the best westerns ever made. Leisurely paced yet always exciting in where it will lead next and the next doublecross. Eastwood and Van Cleef very good but the film belongs to Eli Wallach and his amazing potrayal of Tuco the rat. Perfectly constructed film from its script to cinematography to editing. Morricone's music here is legendary. Essential cinema.
This is better than entire Godfather films from Coppola.
Why did you guys change the still for this? The previous one was perfect, put it back please!
Every gun makes its own tune.
Like I would rate this anything below 5 stars...
It’s fun and it’s really great.
“You see in this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.”
“When you have to shoot, shoot, don’t talk.”
My first Western that I've ever seen and I can't say I was disappointed. It could have been a little shorter, but overall, a great story with fantastic visuals and music.
The man with no name upping his body count, once again.
"HEY, BLOOOOND! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE??? JUST A DIRTY SON OF A BI... AYAYAYA!! WA WA WAAAAA...". WOW! HOW I LOVE THIS FILM!!
Leone got a big budjet for this one...and it shows. Brilliant performances from the 3 main leads. Funny, melancholic and tense set pieces make for a brilliant western.
One of the films of my life. Actually, its THE movie of my life!
Worth a watch. The score got stuck in my head like crazy.
The greatest spaghetti western
a dirty son of a bitch of a film
when I watched this movie all of my attention was on Eastwood and I didn't even noticed Eli Wallach. why does Eastwood always play a alwaysgood and mr.right american man?
Long-winded rubbish and the music is worse than a visit to a public toilet.
Oh what fun. Loved Eli Wallach.
glamorized death plus some nice game theory in the end - nice watch
Quem assiste um filme apenas por causa da trilha sonora? o/ Não irei dizer que é o melhor bang-bang de todos os tempos, pois meu conhecimento dos filmes desse gênero é patético. Mas a musiquinha é sensacional.
it hurts that people find something to criticize about this movie
What I came to realize as a masterpiece from my earliest childhood, of course Morricone's film score was very quickly embedded as a masterful score as well.
The movie felt very long and slow. If I think about it now I can only remember the beginning and the end which are indeed very memorable and for me the best parts of this movie.
