Synopsis

Set in 1930s London, this stylish period drama stars Helena Bonham Carter as Dinah, a quicksilver bohemian whose torrid tryst with her starched sister’s spouse (Paul Bettany) drives a wedge between the siblings. Attracted by Dinah’s beauty and defiance of convention, Rickie (Bettany) embarks on an affair with her that leads to shattering repercussions and, ultimately, forgiveness from her sister (Olivia Williams in a powerful performance).
