The Hidden Conference: A Fractured Play

In her series The Hidden Conference Rosa Barba uses several collections of cultural treasures, museum holdings not normally on display but held in storage (paintings, sculptures, works on paper), as a pool of characters that could be activated in a film whose story would arise from their fortuitous proximity in their storage space. In the artist’s eyes, the potential of museum and archive reserves lies in the potential role the stored objects could play in a narrative. –Locarno Film Festival
