Your movie about journalism sucks.

By Hunter Duesing on January 7, 2010

THE INSIDER is a film that is so intelligent it makes me angry that other movies made since that are supposedly based on “fact” are so simplistic and borderline retarded, treating the audience like a bunch of simpletons as the filmmakers try to manipulate them with their agendas. THE INSIDER never stoops to such lows, but rather paints a picture of the problems of televised journalism that wouldn’t be seen until George Clooney’s GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK in 2005, exposing the famewhores and the true believers in a smart swoop that was sure to spark debate and controversy. This is a real film about journalism, and the sacrifices it takes to get the story out to the public, despite the lazy posing of the so-called heroes we see mugging the camera on TV.
