Synopsis

Sakaguchi, a chilling, unrepentant murderer; Kyoko, a lonely obsessive woman; Hasegawa, Sakaguchi’s frustrated defence lawyer. MANDA Kunitoshi, born in 1956 in Tokyo, directed several 8mm films while studying at Rikkyo University. At the university he met KUROSAWA Kiyoshi. After school, he worked as a screenwriter and assistant director on KUROSAWA Kiyoshi’s “Kandagawa War”(1983) and “Excitement of the Do-Re-Mi-Fa Girl”(1985). He also directed television dramas and industrial videos and has written film critiques for journals such as the Japanese monthly Image Forum. In 1996, he made a 40-minute feature “Spaceship Remnant 6,” a film in the J MovieWar 3 series produced by SENTO Takenori. In 1999, under his writer’s name MANDA Kunimi, he co-authored the script with Sento for NAGASAKI Shunichi’s “Shikoku.” “UNLOVED” is his first full-length feature film. —medialuna-entertainment.de
