Aspiring writer Jerilee Randall (Pia Zadora) marries the much older Hollywood screenwriter Walter Thornton (Lloyd Bochner) after he rescues her from a brutal assault when she’s just a teenager. But eventually their marriage fails, and Jerilee finds herself on her own. Deciding she’ll have to use her feminine wiles to get ahead, Jerilee begins a series of sordid affairs in an attempt to have her screenplay produced.
Thank god for Pia Zadora. She is shat on regularly by the press but always gives it her all and looks great doing it. This is her finest moment. Underneath the film's made-for-tv aesthetics, shitty soundtrack and obvious campy delights, believe me it really IS an accurate portrayal of the industry - a soul-sucking cesspool of assholes, sleazebags, impotent intellectuals and predatory lesbians lurking in hot tubs!
