Some questionable camera choices, like Johnny Depp in slo-mo and periodic softening of the image, otherwise an okay film. The Verdi piece is just so beautiful. For some reason I did not recognize Cate Blanchett at all until the credits, so credit to her for fully inhabiting her role as Lola.
This film may be lesser known, but it is definitely worth the watch! It is a beautiful film all the way through! The film chronicles a girl's search for her father and the path she takes as well as endures. Plus, it caters to men and women in regards to "eye candy." I'm not a huge Christina Ricci fan, though I do admit she's a great actress. The main reasons I wanted to watch the film were Cate Blanchett and Johnny Depp! Johnny Depp is super smoking sexy in this film--but then again, when is he not, right. ;)
