Although I was swept along with the emotion of the mourning man throughout the film I felt like the film failed to leave a strong lasting impression which is why it hasn’t gained 5 stars from me. I also feel the winding of the little music box should have been ommitted, it was a little cliche but I understand the significance of a child’s toy in essence. There are a few scenes that I’d remember to have touched me, especially the river-crossing scene. I think Shigeki makes the film. Worth a watch still.

First of all I’d like to say this is the first film I’ve paid to watch on this website, I checked out a few free films on here they didn’t really grab me so i have been hoping the first film I paid to watch for would be great, and great it was.
I love how the young lady learns to be maternal through an old man, and comes to embrace and accept her mourning and eventually isable to move on, coupled with that I love how the old man learns to be ‘a child’ again through the young lady. Truly beautiful and spiritual story. Some of the images are sublime, as is the soundtrack. Camera work is abit shaky and a couple of faults in editing, but they don’t take away from the film at all.
Well worth a watch.
