yeah, I feel the same way.
Maybe I'm missing out on whatever nostalgic quality this holds, because I just watched this for the first time last night and I just don't get it, I guess. I got really annoyed halfway through the film -- it felt as though they were just trying so hard (really the whole thing is a bit like your middle school Hot Topic phase, isn't it?) -- but I did enjoy the first half. Eh.

Honestly, I don't get what all the fuss is about. I could appreciate Danny Elfman's beautiful score and a bunch of quirky characters but after half an hour I got bored. Overall it was ok but nothing more...
I love this movie for just about all the reasons a girl can even though as a child it was pure terror. I like to call it "45% of Hot Topic's merchandise".
lagu-lagunya itu yang bikin film ini noisy n panjang. banyak scene-scene yang ga perlu.
One of my all time favourites, I can't get enough of this movie. The songs, the animation, the cool characters. perfect.
I hate it when people believe that Tim Burton directed Nightmare Before Christmas. The same thing happens with Coraline and 9. Poor Henry Selick and the guy that directed 9.
I've always found the story a little lacking, but I love the stop-motion animation.
Ignore the cult merchandice that followed. I find it this to be a completley original, delightful, and beautiful film that also manages to encapsulate the absurdity and magic of both Halloween and Christmas. And of course, there's that closing shot.
I had the opposite experience of Roscoe -- my initial reaction to this film was moderate, and it's only in hindsight after all these years that I've come to love it and recognize how vastly superior this is to other animated films. It's teeming with so much original/strange/funny/beautiful imagery, imagination, and heart that it's staggering that anybody could simply dream this up.
I liked it but didn't love it. I love musicals and I actually got sick of the music in this.
There are two things I have to say about it. First, it's better in 3-D. Second, it's too short and it needs more shit.
