Synopsis

Acclaimed director Goran Paskaljevic examines the space between illusion and truth in this award-winning, multiepisodic film about optimism in a post-Milosevic Serbia. Five poignant vignettes — each of which feature Serbian actor Lazar Ristovski — include a tale about the survivors of a flood who seek solace in a hypnotist, and the story of roaming pilgrims in search of a healing spring with miraculous powers.

He was raised by his grandparents in Niš, following the divorce of his parents, and 14 years later returned to Belgrade where he worked in his stepfather’s cinema.

He graduated from the Film Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). He directed many documentary films and TV dramas for TV Belgrade. His first feature film was Beach Guard in Winter), released in 1976. It was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival. Two years later, his film The Dog Who Loved Trains was entered into the 28th Berlin International Film Festival in 1978. —Wikipedia
