Quick on the heels of Franka’s starring role in ‘Run Lola Run’ comes this far more accomplished and artistic film about two individuals who grow and learn through the weirdness we call life. Ones a criminal, ones a hopeless romantic with baggage – together they take us through the halls of a mental institution, a steelfront bank, the countryside, all of which culminates in an ending worth sitting through. Even though I normally can’t watch too many German films as I pledged allegiance to the French a while back (I also do not care for the language that much), this is a rare beast of a film. Worth owning, and clearly one of the best films I’ve seen.
