After watching a film like L.627 (1992) by Tavernier, you obviously have expectations towards the filmmaker. I had some for this film at Cannes, but it was seriously not interesting. Very predictable plot and boring rythm. What is my definition of boring? Boring in cinema is something that can be translated by a lack of originality in the overall construction and presentation of a story and a lack of originality and pertinence in the mise en scene. Some directors can make long and interesting films, Tavernier made a long and uninteresting film. The first 30 minutes of the film were great, but afterwards, the director was out of the track, completely.

Message to the director:
Bertrand T., just go back to your habits. I can’t imagine Bergman doing a Sci-Fi, or Tarkovsky doing a slapstick comedy, same thing with you doing a Cliché Medieval chamber drama.
