Hard to believe this is from the same guy who did the excellent "V for Vendetta". Weak cast, unlikable characters, even the death scenes are stupid. Not to mention the whole "EMILY! EMILY! EMILY! EMILY!"...jesus... And the so praised John Cusack looks as usual, the same arrogant, neurotic, trying to be funny act from all his movies, only this time he's Edgar Allan Poe. Wow...

This is my mom's kind of movie: weak mystery. But at least they gave me gore, which my mother couldn't bare to look at. So, I guess we both win?

Movie sucks, Cusack rules. He adds that second star all on his own.
