Raymond Villiers, a former dance champion, lives on the banks of a Parisian canal with his wife Evelyn. When a disfigured colonel shows up and threatens physical harm unless he settles his gambling debt, Raymond is sent into a state of panic and turns to his friends for support. These include Margos, a restaurant owner who thinks only of his ill-health, and Zizi, an old newspaper seller who, despite his racist views, has a kind regard for Zouzou, a child of African origin. Meanwhile, a mentally disturbed man named Jérémie is scouring the area in search of women he can strangle with his scarf, which is embroidered with an ibis. —Filmsdefrance.com
