Finally attended a midnight showing of this cult classic at Cleveland’s Cedar Lee theatre. It is a strange rock n roll musical that pays tribute to “B” level horror and sci fi movies from days gone by, but with risque sexual mores thrown in to further stir things up! It was a good time. So many great tunes. It always slows down too much once Frank turns everyone to stone though. There are still a few fun effects and visuals with RKO Pictures, the pool, and Riff Raff’s and Magenta’s alien uniforms, but I think the main culprit causing the end of the movie to drag (no pun intended) is that I don’t find the songs in the last act to be all that memorable.
