Play school meets mental illness. Apart from the abrupt/awkwardly written ending, I really liked the visual style though.
Exceptionally artsy, warm and surreal. A dreamer's daydream.
Completely underrated. Every dream sequence is the quintessence of Gondry's style - eccentric, surreal, and absolutely astonishing. I feel like with this film there were no boundaries, he was capable of letting his vision run free. And what a vision!
Wonderful. Very sweet. Charlotte Gainsbourg is absolutely amazing.
lovely and perfect, that clarely says who I am
i want to live in Stephane's world...
This film resonates with me very well. I feel like there may be flaws to it, but I'm hard pressed to identify them just because the film works so well for me personally.
Fantasitic :D i really enjoyed it, pushed the enveloped in filmmaking
Boring! But the surrealist elements were nice.
The final scene is so powerful, but I think very few people get it.
Both the protagonists did a great work there, well done!
This movie was tailor made for me! A truly original, unique, stylish film that's both highly entertaining and highly personal. This is one of those films I can relate to pretty much 100%...
If Charlotte wasn't in it, I wouldn't have finished watching...
it got amazing visual, and well, it's *Gondry* imaginations. But I was expecting a little more from the story, I thought it would be more magical.
liked it better the second time around. yet...
It's funny that every single detail of this movie made perfect sense to me. I thought it was a very clear, rich, fascinating and moving. Gondry is also a spectacular director and there are so many things he does I'm totally astonished by, I can't count anymore. Alain Chabat also cracked me up, he's just excellent.
It was good and very well made, but I can't help but think it's a bit underwritten.
good idea for a film i liked how it was done but personally i got confused which was dream or reality. but i quess thats what gondry was going for.
The line between dreams and reality is very fragile in case of daydreamers...
"In dreams emotions are overwhelming."
More style than substance. But what's not to like from Gondry?
This movie would be nothing without Charlotte Gainsbourg.
