I keep seeing “funny” pop up in reviews of this movie but I found absolutely no humor in it. Maybe it’s because I watched the movie alone, and maybe it’s because some of the situations resonated with personal experiences, but I would advise anyone seeking a laugh to steer clear of The Squid and the Whale – you’ll come out more somber than amused. Nonetheless, great story and film, relatable and uplifting concluding message.
