On the surface a simple, touching tale of friendship. Though if you're familiar with Tarkovsky it's easy to see the ideas that would make his feature length films great already brewing. Even here, too, water plays an important role in both the visual and philosophical aspects. His first of many collaborations with cinematographer Vadim Yusov premieres the serene and hypnotizing shots Tarkovsky's films are known for.
This is a beautiful short, the one that shows Tarkovsky's poetic notions in early blossom. A must-see for basically everyone.
la música es muy buena y las imágenes de primera. los reflejos en los espejos y en el agua funcionan como una especie de metáfora del cine mismo. después del curso de josefo sobre el maestro ruso en el film club café, fan absoluto
The Steamroller and the Violin (1961) DIR Andrei Tarkovsky Artists are naively moved by the power dynamic of large objects.
A great beginning film for Tarkovsky. This film, though one of the first in his career, really set in stone the aesthetic and thematic styles that would fuel the rest of his career. A must see for any Tarkovsky lover. The symbolism throughout the film is wonderfully placed/delivered.
