Lee Jeong-hyang

Lee Jeong-Hyang was born in Korea in 1964 and graduated at Sogang University with a thesis on French literature. However, since he was at high school his great love has been the cinema.

After attending the Korean Academy of Film Arts he began working as a director’s assistant in various films before making “Art Museum by the Zoo” (1998) which was his first full-length film.

Her second film, “The way home” (2002) is about the unconditional love that grows between a young boy and his grandmother. She has received great acclaim from viewers and critics alike and won Best New Director at the Grand Bell Film Awards, the Blue Dragon Film Awards, the YongPyung Film Awards, and the Choonsa Film Awards.

Lee Jeong-Hyang is back after the nine-year break, with a deeply philosophical and layered work on forgiveness and crime “A Reason to Live” (2011).

The good purpose of The Way home. It isn't to jerk your tears, but to remember something that make us, whole!
