Connery can play an Arab, Russian, Space Elf or Rosa Parks and be awesome regardless. Brian Keith is fistpumpy as TR, this is a fantastic adventure flick.

Fantastic adventure. Connery shows his true range as an actor while Bergen and music treat the eyes and ears with breathtaking beauty. A don't miss film. Also nostalgic as America once led the world in brilliance and guts.

Milius here makes the kind of film that Hollywood just doesnt make anymore a rousing adventure in the mould of Gunga Din and Robin Hood Connery is great as the arab chief and the cast is full of good actors and of course some great action setpieces ,a film which is due a major revival and a proper UK dvd release NOW !!!!!

A rousing historical adventure epic from Milius. A visual marvel with spectacular location photography set to Jerry Goldsmith's exceptional score (one of his very best), all of it centered by the star presence of Sean Connery (even if he doesn't try to hard to shed his Scottish accent). It has its flaws - the plot looses its way toward the end; it's unevenly paced at times, with a few sequences that center too much around tedious politics - but as a whole this is an incredibly entertaining old-fashioned epic.
