Things That Hang from Trees

In this Southern gothic tale set in 1969 Florida, 8-year-old Tommy Wheeler (Cooper Musgrove) longs to watch the town fireworks perched atop the lighthouse — a dream he realizes but with shocking consequences. Already inhabiting a dismal environment in which his mother (Deborah Kara Unger) runs a sex shop and a bully regularly abuses him, Tommy finds his world turning even darker when he makes a discovery upon descending from the lighthouse.
