Our take
Alessandro Gassmann took Best Actor at Venice for his performance as the conflicted Samaritan in Mauro Mancini’s award-winning debut. A moral and spiritual enquiry into inherited contempt and the value of redemption, Thou Shalt Not Hate spins a parable from the paradoxical effects of guilt.
