Director Brillante Ma. Mendoza was born on July 30, 1960 in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. He finished Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas where he majored in Advertising. His career began as a Production Designer in feature films, television, and theatre. His mastery over production design was featured in acclaimed local films such as Takaw Tukso (Flirting With Temptation, 1986), Private Show (1986), Olongapo (1984), The Great American Dream (1987), and many others. In 2005, Mendoza founded Centerstage Productions (CSP), an independent film production outfit. But you could really feel the story of the film when the second half of the film came. And the actors are all so great especially Nora!!!! If only he would focus more much deeper into the couples' story this film would really be great.. But its what they want.... haha...
hmmmmm.... In all fairness to him, social relevance pretentiousness whatsoever was not the focus of the film as most independent film maker here will definitely show but in my view he wants to combine the rich culture of the people and the story of the couple and unfortunately he ended up not not mixing it well...
