After purchasing a Blu-ray player recently, I decided to finally lose all the old VHS tapes I’ve been hanging onto for years, so I’ve been going through them one by one, deciding which to upgrade to DVD, which to upgrade to Blu-ray, and which to just pitch and forget. I find that this is the only film in my collection which is simply unavailable as a region 1 DVD, and I am appalled. This is one of the most lovely and haunting films I have ever seen, a film of heartbreaking beauty. Why this has never been made available in the Region 1 market is unfathomable to me.
