What a dumb movie. I’m assuming it was supposed to be kind of campy, which I respect, but I just found it to be terribly stupid.
Arnold is good at playing robots, etc… because a) he has minimal dialogue, and b) his normal voice sounds robotic, so when he does talk, he actually sounds like an android.
He’s playing a human here… but since he still sounds like the terminator he just comes off as this socially awkward guy.
Like many other adaptions of Phillip K. Dick novels, it starts off with this really wonderful premise and then proceeds to ruin it. So the idea behind the film is great, I’ll give it that.
Phillip K. Dick must have been rolling in his grave when they came out with this one.
