The Moroccan style of music which Nass El Ghiwan plays is very unique and highly enjoyable, but, dissapointigly, the group’s interest begins and ends with their music. The film tracks and interviews the band members while on tour, and while the director does a respectable job in pacing and content, the musicians are simply not intriguing enough for the length of an entire film. However, the one screen shot of the band leader writing in his notebook by candlelight is one beautiful exception which might merit a viewing of the film.

What a movie/documentary!!
It really shows the problems and the life they lived in the time of King Hassan II.

I’m always been a big fan of them. My father told me about this group when i was just a kid. 17 years old, he told me what the point was of the lyrics. But because i don’t understand the arabic language good enough i did’nt understand it all.

But after watchin this movie, i’ve become a bigger fan!!
Really nice work !!

And respect for the maker Ahamed El Maanouni and The Auteurs page!
