It is the year 2005. And the battle between the heroic Autobots led by Optimus Prime and the evil Decepticons led by Megatron and StarScream. Two warring factions of transforming robots from the planet Cybertron. The Autobots must save their home planet from an evil entity known as Unicron, who’s ready to consume anything that stands in its way. At the same time, they must defend themselves from an all-out attack from the Decepticons. Along the way, lives are lost, battles are fought, and a new Autobot leader is born as another dies. —IMDb
Orson Welles on this movie: "I play a big toy who beats up all the little toys."
80's personified! Nostalgia maybe the only reason I love this film, but it still has more soul than Bay's cruddy attempts at selling toys.
this movie is an endless toy commercial but i won't lie, i watched it like 900 times when i was six and i can still probably quote most of the dialogue if prompted :( sorry, cinema
With the exception of the 2000 U.S. Presidential election, never has the struggle between good and evil been more clear! You say its a 84 minute toy commercial, I say its a sublime contemplation of the fragility of life, and the possibility that morality can exist during a civil war. (A civil war between giant transforming robots that is.)
