Trois faces

Érik Bullot was born in 1963. After studying at the National School of Photography (Arles)
and IDHEC (Paris), he makes films that are a mixture of art films, experimental films, and documentaries. His filmography includes more than twenty titles, including The Chinese Garden (1999), The Monkey Light (2002), Glossolalia (2005), Three Sides (2007), Tohu-Bohu (2008), The Pencil of Nature (2009), The Alliance (2010). His work has been featured in numerous festivals and museums, including the Jeu de Paume (Paris), Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), the Biennial of Moving Image (Geneva), CCCB (Barcelona), ECOMICI 08 (Barcelona), La Enana Marrón (Madrid).

A member of the collective pointligneplan, he has published several books: Tomb for an Eccentric, a novel (Deyrolle, 1996); Gardens-rebus (Actes Sud, 1999); The Ape of Light (Le Crédac, 2002); Sayat Nova (Yellow Now, 2007); and Reversals 1. Notes on Cinema (Paris Experimental, 2009). While working as a filmmaker, he writes on critical and theoretical issues in numerous articles and essays. He has taught film and photography at various schools of art
(Marseille, Le Fresnoy, Arles, Avignon, Bourges). He is director of studies at the European School Superior image (Angoulême-Poitiers) and teaches at the University of New York at Buffalo.
