i would like to confess my love for quentin, i could feel him in every line that was spoken, in every plot twist that was performed. perfectly balanced, this movie is not a snotty romantic film, it has taste and class. even though the story itself could never happen in real life, you omit that fact due to the brilliant work of tarantino, scott and actors crew. oldman is unbelievable as always.
Just by watching the preview, I'm amazed at how many great actors are in this.
Just watched the Tarantino cut; enjoyable action movie with a superb cast (except for Slater - I just don't like the guy). The irony with showing "Better Tomorrow 2" and later on presenting a similar scene was good. Part of the soundtrack also sounds like Woo's HK "infinite-ammo" movies. And I had no idea where Val Kilmer had appeared until I checked...!
This film effervesces with the pure love and passion for filmmaking, and cinema, I adore this picture and play it for all my friends, and they love it too :) I cannot imagine someone not having a ball with this one
"ME AND DENNIS [Hopper], when we were doing that scene in TRUE ROMANCE, it was hilarious. It really was — including shooting him. All that laughing was real. He was killing me. And all the guys around us — that was a very cracking-up day." - Christopher Walken
I am very interested in how this would have turned out if Tarantino had been directing, as well as why he decided not to. Maybe it got in the way of Pulp Fiction, in which case, thank god he wasn't busy with this.
