Synopsis
During a school lesson in Persia the pupils learn that two plus two equals five. No that the lie has been turned into a truth, it becomes a crime to say otherwise. Epic theatre or a simple fable – the short scene in the classroom tells us about the mechanisms of dictatorship and tyranny. I lived through similar ordeals, as a child too, though mine were derived from the fact that I'd use my left hand when writing, which was an affront to the teachers/principals and while I was never shot for it, there were those who had a proclivity for corporal punishment: they'd beat on my left hand with a willow switch, or a ruler. One liked to tie it behind my back afterwards. They lost.

Strong, powerful, sad but at the same time very true! Loved the film, its simplicity and honest approach towards a very dark reallity!
