Except 90% of anything involving dogs. (The 10% of acceptable dog humor being the main one, Doug).
Unfortunately the body of the film does not live up to the high standard set by the wonderfully poignant opening. As the plot becomes increasingly silly all emotional engagement is lost and it degenerates into a regular children's T.V animation. The introduction's promise of a light family drama examining loneliness and grief is abandoned in favour of a bizarre tale involving talking dogs. A disappointment.
Some people loved, I think it was a regular Pixar, nothing more. Maybe I'm becoming bitter.
I rated this movie 4 out of 5 stars. As a child, I always wished that I could become an adult who carried along his passion for animation. Up made my day today which proves that I'm on the right track. Outcasts uniting under unlikely situations and the absence of dramatized opposition of good vs. evil were huge pluses. The hardworking crew with an on-site inspiration depicted South America in an excellent fashion.
love the characters ... amzing muv ....showing love, passion & fun in a muv is very tough ... this muv done tat pretty brilliantly...
Amazing film. The best Pixar film by a long way in my opinion. I love the simplicity and naivety of the it, the unlikely friendship, the adventurous spirit and the overall beautuy. 5 Stars.
A rebuke to the fact that adventure heroes need to be young, this colorful and fun film features real characters and a wordless prologue sequences thats touching and poetic.
Incredible prologue in a film. It could stood as one separate film in itself. The rest of the story is a bonus.

Even if it DID get an little bit far-fetched in parts (Yeah, the dogs flying little bi-planes was kinda stupid), this was still an incredibly beautiful, emotional film with one of the most amazing scores I have ever heard in my life!
The first 20 minutes or so of this film were perfect...but it's pretty underwhelming after that. I think the film would have worked better as a short. Of course it's not horrible, but it's a serious disappointment considering this was their follow-up to the brilliant "Wall-E".
Up has me both on the verge of tears in one minute and dying of laughter in the other. It deals with grief, friendship and love of life. It features adorable characters, wonderful animation art and a beautiful score as well as hilarious comedic moments and profound insight into vital matters. It’s funny, adventurous and deeply moving. It’s gripping and heart-warming. A true gem!
The best film by Pixar to date! Moving, very funny and action-packed. You'll love Up!
Watched this with my bf... and we laughed, we cried... It felt really good. Heart-touching :)
SO loveable. Any age group can watch it and find something that touches their heart. Russell is so freaking adorable. And that montage in the beginning? So lovely and beautiful.
