haha
Feels like my neuroses have been put into words, and my dream state in images of solid fluidity
For as cold as much of the dialogue comes off, the film still comes off un-godly personal.
An absolutely fascinating piece I found not only enlightening, but relatable. The rotoscoping definitely works to an advantage. Admittedly, it asks more questions than it answers, but I will certainly be revisiting this thought-provoking gem.
I really enjoyed this one. Sometimes it felt like speed-reading some philosophy course book, all these ideas! haha... Very nice visually, too.
if you can keep up the pace with understanding, then you will be able to enjoy and not to be bored by this fantastic movie.
I love what they are arguing about in the movie.. needed a lot of time to succesfully watch this movie until end. and stil,l I think i'm going to rewatch this slightly boring but fantastic movie. I want to learn more about what Linklater thinks about lucid dream.. dream within a dream, sound alien for me.
Slacker felt like all the actors and screen writer were high while the director and audience sat back to enjoy the insanity; Waking life feels like everyone involved is high together.
WK can't be rated, nor it can be classified as a regular movie/animated but feels more like an essay about individual impressions, collective memory and unconscious synesthesia between life and death, and other human beings. A curious - sometimes illuminating, sometimes boring - unique and self-talking jibber jabber.
"Soy yo, tratando con muchas personas que me están alimentando con información e ideas que me parecen vagamente familiares" eso dice el protagonista pa entender un poco lo que pasa en la pelicula y la historia...que es eso...mucha gente hablando de la vida...cientificamente..socialmente...emocionalmente...etc...wena wena, recomendable...
Fantastic and thought-provoking philosophical conversations, neat visuals, breathtaking soundtrack...but does it work as a movie? I guess. I'll probably watch it again.
