Waltz for a Million

Generalized schematic story is about young trumpet player Franta from Strakonice who meets a girl from Uherské Hradiště and he tries to find her in a whirl of million town full of shop windows, new cars and other exhibit of socialist prosperity.
The action served as an excuse for panoramatic view of capital’s beauty. The film was shot at Strahov stadium, at Prague Castle, at Letná (restaurant Expo 58 and Stalin memorial) and at busy streets of the city center. Monumental Palace of the Unions, formerly pensionary institue at Žižkov represented the student dormitory.
Trumpet solo was recorded by Ivo Preis. We can get a view of contemporary modern dances, for example rediscovered Charleston.
Screenwriter Jan Procházka has formed author couple with Karel Kachyňa in the next years and he caught his notice in more lively themes. —http://www.kinoatlas.cz
